About us

Hemel Hempstead’s Muslim Welfare Association (MWA) exists to serve the local community in a number of ways including:

- providing support, through the Funeral Service, for Muslim families suffering a bereavement

- working proactively with all sections of the community such as the elderly, the youth and women to ensure that their needs and interests are taken care of

- engaging with the local council to procure financial backing for community projects and initiatives and organising and driving these through to successful completion

- building and developing relationships with the wider Non-Muslim community and individuals of Hemel Hempstead.

We need to work collectively to ensure our concerns and interests are raised and articulated in the best manner. The MWA is in fact the servant of the Muslim community in Hemel. It is a vehicle which will be all the more effective with greater involvement and participation from you. As a committee, we have many new ideas and plans for the MWA; we have a clear vision of what the MWA should be and we’re very excited about the prospects for the coming weeks, months & indeed the years. There is clearly no shortage of challenges and I'm relishing the opportunity to lead and serve as President of MWA and work with this truly talented bunch of guys over the coming years to bring success by securing the rights due to the Muslim community in Hemel Hempstead.
